Before you continue to browse and discover all the great activities and facilities the park has to offer, we would like to first thank all of the businesses and individuals that have generously helped keep our park alive! Your continued support allows us to offer the many oppurtunities that the park provides to the families and all members of our community! We have been blessed with a great year and are excited about the future opportunities to come! We appreciate and thank you all!!
The park was founded in 1915, when a group attending the Brown family picnic decided the area called Snyder’s Grove would be a beautiful place for a park. Then in 1921, the park elected its first Board of Directors and in 1922, the park was officially incorporated and dedicated, “To commemorate the valor and heroic deeds of the brave soldiers of Morrisons Cove of all the wars in which the United States has participated, and to provide a public center for civic and moral instruction, recreation, amusement and promotion of athletic sports for all the people of Morrisons Cove.”
In 1934, a multipurpose facility was erected to accompany indoor activities. The Morrison’s Cove Memorial park continued to grow over the years and in 1979 the facility was razed and the present recreational community complex was erected. The Park is a non-profit (501 C-3) corporation that is supported only by the hard work and financial generosity of the community.
We would love for you to take a moment and check out all that the Morrison’s Cove Memorial Park has to offer.
As soon as you see the park grounds you can see the first reason families, especially children, love to come to our park on nice days, evenings, and weekends. There is an all access play ground that has a huge wooden castle built with steps, slides and bridges to help kids can explore their imaginations while they play in the sand dunes, swing sets, monkey bars, tire swing and then relax on the benches that are provided. The park is also a non-smoking area to protect our patrons. There are basketball and tennis courts for our patrons recreational pleasure located behind the Hershberger Memorial Pool.
Located inside the Morrisons Cove Memorial Park building are several facilities. The Huntsman Bowling Alley, the skating rink, The Zack Hinish Gymnasium, a conference room, and a beautiful banquet hall. Then located on park grounds is the Hershberger Memorial pool for your swimming and fun in the sun pleasure.
There are also four pavilions on the park grounds available to rent for birthday parties, reunions or any other functions that our patrons or the community might have. Also, when you rent out a pavilion there are discounts on our other activities throughout the park. For more information, please contact our office secretary.
